Cookie Policy
v1.4.2
1. Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how Spine, the trading name of WithSpine Ltd, uses cookies and similar technologies across www.withspine.co and portal.withspine.co. It explains what we use, why we use it, how consent works in different regions, and how you can change your choice.
Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Some expire when you close your browser, while others remain for a defined period unless you delete them earlier. Similar technologies, such as JavaScript tags, can also help a website remember choices or understand how pages are used.
We use these technologies to keep our services working, remember your analytics preference, understand how visitors use our pages and product, and identify journeys that could be improved. We do not use cookies to make hiring decisions or profile candidates for employment decisions.
2. What We Use
Strictly necessary cookies. These support functions such as login, security, session management, form operation, and remembering essential choices. They are always active because the website and client portal cannot provide those functions without them.
Google Analytics 4. We use Google Analytics 4, with measurement ID G-53XTTYNNPR, to measure visits, navigation, referral sources, devices, browsers, and page interactions. It is configured with first-party cookies. Google Signals and ad personalization are disabled.
Microsoft Clarity. We use Microsoft Clarity for session replay and heatmaps. Session replay means an anonymized recording of page interactions such as clicks, scrolls, and form navigation, which helps us understand where journeys are confusing and improve the product. Microsoft processes this data on our behalf.
Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity are used for analytics only. We do not use advertising cookies, remarketing, third-party marketing pixels, or social media cookies. We do not send CV content, candidate notes, email addresses, or other information entered into lead forms to Google Analytics.
The logged-in client portal at portal.withspine.co uses Microsoft Clarity for session analytics as part of providing the service. Strictly necessary cookies used for login, security, and sessions remain active and are not controlled by your analytics choice.
3. Regional Consent Model
EU and UK visitors. Analytics are off by default. You will see a consent banner, and Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity only run after you click Accept. If you choose Reject, no analytics tools load.
Visitors elsewhere, including the US. Analytics run by default when the page loads, without a banner. This is an opt-out model. A floating “Cookie settings” button remains available, and choosing Reject stops all analytics immediately, deletes the analytics cookies listed below, and remembers your choice.
We determine which model applies using your browser timezone. If region detection fails, we default to the stricter opt-in model, with analytics off until you accept.
4. Your Choices
When you explicitly choose Accept or Reject, we store that choice for six months in a cookie named spine_analytics_consent. It is set for the .withspine.co domain, so your choice applies across both www.withspine.co and portal.withspine.co. The cookie stores only your preference and contains no analytics data.
You can change your choice at any time using the floating “Cookie settings” button. Choosing Reject stops Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity and clears the Google Analytics cookies _ga and _ga_*, together with the Microsoft Clarity cookies _clck and _clsk.
Most browsers also let you block, limit, or delete cookies through their privacy or site-data settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, some website or portal functions may not work correctly.
5. Cookie Details
spine_analytics_consent stores your consent choice for six months.
_ga and _ga_* allow Google Analytics to distinguish visitors and sessions. They remain for up to two years.
_clck is the Microsoft Clarity user ID used to connect sessions. It remains for up to one year.
_clsk connects Microsoft Clarity activity within a session recording. It remains for one day.
We may update this Cookie Policy when our services, technology, or data practices change. The date shown on this page is the date of the latest update.
